The Decro Pharma manufacturing plant at Indrad

Manufacturing

Where we make it.

Our plant sits at Plot No. 7, Umiya Industrial Estate, Indrad — about half an hour from Ahmedabad. It was designed and is run by a skilled, experienced team, and built to meet the standards of both Indian and global regulators.

What's on site

Six areas, under one roof.

BLOCK A

Bulk API manufacturing

Where we make our bulk active ingredients — the B12 family, plus our heart and metabolic actives — each on its own dedicated, contained line.

BLOCK B

Sterile & freeze-drying

Our clean sterile core, with freeze-dryers that stopper vials inside the chamber. We develop and validate the cycles ourselves, and keep everything sterile from fill to finish.

BLOCK C

Filling lines

Our lines for dry-powder injections and liquid injections, filling anything from 2 ml ampoules up to 100 ml vials.

QC · GLP

Quality control lab

Our own GLP lab checks identity, strength, sterility and stability, and signs off every batch against BP, USP, EP, IP and JP standards.

R&D

Research & development

Our scientists keep improving how we make things — refining routes and freeze-drying cycles to be safer, greener and better value.

STORES

Storage & dispatch

Temperature-controlled stores for raw materials and finished goods, and dispatch that's ready for cold-chain shipments at home and abroad.

What we do best

Lyophilisation is our strong suit.

It's written into our mission statement, and for good reason. Freeze-drying is the hardest way to keep a sterile drug stable — and it's why a Decro vial still mixes cleanly at a hospital years after it leaves Indrad. Here's how it works.

  1. 01

    Freeze

    −45.0 °C

    Shelf temperature

The solution is cooled well below freezing on tightly controlled shelves, so the drug sets into a stable, solid form.

  2. 02

    Vacuum

    0.081 mBar

    Chamber pressure

Pressure drops to a fraction of a millibar. Under a vacuum this deep, the ice can't melt — it can only turn straight to vapour.

  3. 03

    Sublimate

    −20.0 °C

    Primary drying

Over primary and secondary drying, the water leaves bit by bit, leaving behind a dry cake that dissolves the moment it's needed.

  4. 04

    Seal

    +25.0 °C

    Stoppered under N₂

Vials are stoppered under nitrogen and sealed right there in the chamber, so they stay sterile from fill to finish.

Research & development

Always improving how we make things.

We set up an in-house R&D team early on, and it's a big part of how we've grown. They refine our synthesis routes and freeze-drying cycles so our processes get safer, more sustainable and better value over time — and so we can keep adding products to the range.

It's the same team that helps us hold a leadership position on many of our molecules, without ever compromising on quality.
